Ginny & Georgia · A Viewer’s Companion
Ginny and Austin are half-siblings with different dads, their thirty-one-year-old mother has been married three times under more than one name, and half of Wellsbury is somebody’s ex or somebody’s twin. Peach borders are Georgia’s line — the family she made and the Alabama one she ran from at fourteen; red marks the fathers, husbands and partners, numbered in the order she met them; blue is Wellsbury, the town that took her in and then filled the courtroom.
Spoiler-safe mode is on: death markers, secret-reveal labels and finale outcomes are hidden on this chart and in the notes below. Use the “Spoilers” button in the top bar to show everything again.
A single mother, two kids by two men, six partners across four states and a town full of people who have known each other since kindergarten.
Georgia Miller is thirty-one. Her daughter Ginny is fifteen — the age Georgia was when she had her. In the pilot, Georgia’s husband Kenny Drexel drops dead at the wheel, and the inheritance buys the family a fresh start in a picture-postcard Massachusetts town where nobody knows them. That money, and what it cost, is the engine of all three seasons.
№1 Zion — met at a bar when she was fourteen; Ginny’s father. №2 Anthony Greene — New Orleans, 2006, dead within months. №3 Gil — Austin’s father, jailed for embezzlement she pinned on him. №4 Kenny — the pilot. №5 Paul — the mayor, married in the Season 2 finale. №6 Joe — the café owner who never quite says it.
Ginny’s first friend in Wellsbury is Maxine Baker; her first boyfriend is Maxine’s twin brother Marcus, who reaches her bedroom by climbing between windows. Their mother Ellen becomes Georgia’s closest friend, and their father Clint is Deaf — the whole family signs. One house, four of the show’s most tangled relationships.
Ginny’s father is Zion Miller, a Boston photographer whose parents once tried to take custody of her. Austin’s father is Gil Timmins, who went to prison when Austin was three. Season 2 brings Gil back to Wellsbury, and Season 3 hands Austin a decision that ends the whole story.
Georgia is arrested at her own wedding reception for the murder of Cynthia’s comatose husband, Tom Fuller, whom she smothered. Season 3 is the five-week trial: house arrest, an ankle monitor, the children removed to their fathers, a faked pregnancy to stop Paul leaving, and finally Austin on the stand swearing he saw Gil do it. The verdict is not guilty; Paul divorces her anyway and the town votes to recall him.
Keep the Millers apart, the husbands in order, and the four girls straight:
Ginny is legally Virginia Miller, born 6 November 2004. Georgia is her mother — and “Georgia” is a name she picked off a road sign at fourteen. She was born Mary Rose Reilly in Birmingham, Alabama.
Georgia, Ginny, Austin and Zion all carry the surname Miller, and so do Zion’s parents Corbin and Lynette — but Georgia and Zion were never married. Austin isn’t Zion’s son at all; his father is Gil Timmins.
The two fathers, and nothing alike. Zion — Ginny’s dad, a photographer, still Georgia’s closest friend. Gil — Austin’s dad, charming on arrival, and the man Georgia has spent a decade keeping away from her son.
The three husbands. Kenny Drexel — Houston, the money, dies in the pilot. Anthony Greene — New Orleans, 2006, a marriage almost nobody knows about. Paul Randolph — the mayor, the white wedding, the arrest that follows it, and the divorce announced on the courthouse steps.
The friend group is an acronym of its members: Maxine, Abby, Norah, Ginny. Marcus is Maxine’s twin, which is why dating him detonates the group. Ginny and Marcus are also nicknamed “Garcus.”
The two Wellsbury mothers Georgia orbits. Ellen Baker is the friend across the street — Marcus and Maxine’s mum. Cynthia Fuller is the realtor and rival from the Neighborhood Club, whose dying husband Tom becomes the case against Georgia.
Marty Guillory runs the defense for most of the trial. Simone takes over in the ninth episode — awkwardly, since she is also Zion’s girlfriend, which makes Ginny’s father’s partner the woman arguing to keep Ginny’s mother out of prison.
Not a character — the motorcycle gang a runaway fourteen-year-old Georgia attached herself to after leaving Alabama. Ginny finds the old leather jacket in Season 2 and wears it, which is not received well.

Zion’s girlfriend, a Boston attorney. In Season 3 she takes over Georgia’s defense and wins it.

Georgia’s younger half-sister — Daisy and Ed’s daughter — who turns up in Season 1 wanting money and carrying the same Alabama history.

The private investigator hired to look into Kenny’s death, who keeps pulling threads long after his client stops paying.

Kenny’s ex-wife and mother of his son Davey. She contests the will, calls Georgia a gold-digger, and hires the investigator.

Paul’s chief of staff at Wellsbury town hall — Georgia’s first office ally, then the man in Paul’s ear about her.

Poetry-club classmate and Ginny’s Season 3 fling, met while her mother is on trial and the whole school is watching.
Chart covers Seasons 1–3 (2021–2025), through the Season 3 finale “Monsters” — spoilers run to there. Season-specific facts (the Season 2 wedding and arrest, the five-week trial, the verdict, the custody and divorce outcomes) were checked against the Ginny & Georgia wiki rather than recalled. A fourth season has been ordered and is not covered here. Portraits are stills from that wiki, cropped and served from this site; Ed Atkins and Anthony Greene have no image anywhere on the wiki, so they carry initials instead.
