Bachelor in Paradise · A Viewer's Companion
Paradise doesn't cast strangers. Everyone here already lost on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, which is why the beach is full of half-familiar faces and near-identical names. Then a new arrival lands with a date card, and by Friday a couple you had finally memorised has swapped partners. This isn't a family tree — it's a coupling map. Orange means you arrived on night one, turquoise means you arrived later, violet means you came from the Golden shows. Gold ties are couples; a dashed gold tie is a couple that ended.
Almost every confusing moment in a season of Paradise comes from one of these six mechanics.
Each week ends with a rose ceremony, and the side handing out roses switches every time. Week one the women chose; week two the men; week three the women again, and so on. Whoever is uncoupled when it's not their turn to choose has nothing to hold on to — which is why a single new arrival can end a couple that looked settled.
Every beachgoer is a returning contestant. Four of the men on this chart — Spencer, Jeremy, Jonathon and Brian — came off The Bachelorette season 21. Five of the women here came off The Bachelor season 29. Their card's italic line tells you which season and which lead they originally came for.
Season 10 was the first to mix in cast from The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette. Nine of them landed at once in week three, and for a stretch there were six Golden women to three Golden men — which forced the week-four reshuffle drawn in stage 3. They mostly coupled among themselves; the clearest crossover was April Kirkwood handing her rose to Jonathon in week three.
Alexe and Jonathon paired on night one and held through two ceremonies. Then Andrew arrived in week three, and at that week's ceremony Alexe gave her rose to him instead. Jonathon spent the rest of the season rebuilding — briefly with April, then with Lea from week four — and went home in week eight. Alexe and Andrew went all the way to the last night.
A sixth night-one couple, Justin and Lexi, is missing from stage 1 because it ended almost immediately. Susie arrived in week two; Justin offered her his rose at the ceremony and she turned it down. Justin gave the rose to Jill and left, and Lexi and Susie left too — three departures out of one refused rose, before the Goldens ever landed.
Late in the season the roses ran short, so the beach itself voted on who went home — that's how Brian & Parisa, Jonathon & Lea and, at the last ceremony, Jeremy & Bailey and Keith & Kathy were all sent off. In the finale the eliminated cast returned as a jury to pick the last finalist, and each surviving couple faced a commitment ceremony with prize money attached: Andrew & Alexe left together with $125,000, and Spencer & Jess left engaged with $190,000.
Paradise's real difficulty isn't the couplings — it's that half the beach has the same first name.
Spencer Conley is a first name: a night-one arrival who left engaged to Jess. Andrew Spencer is a surname: he arrived in week three and left in a relationship with Alexe. Two different men, both in the final two couples.
Kat Izzo arrived on night one and was with Dale from the first date to the last vote. Kathy Swarts came from The Golden Bachelor in week three and was with Keith for the whole of her run.
Lea Cayanan arrived in week four and coupled with Jonathon. Leslie Fhima is a Golden who arrived in week three, was with Kim, then moved to Gary in week four.
Alexe Godin is the night-one arrival who ended up with Andrew. Allyshia Gupta arrived in week four and coupled with Sean. Alli Jo Hinkes is a third A-name who arrived in week two and left in week two — she isn't on the chart.
Jess Edwards left engaged. Jeremy Simon was with Bailey from night one. Jonathon Johnson lost Alexe and later found Lea. Jill Chin arrived in week two, coupled with Sean and left in week four.
Kim Buike and Keith Gordon both came from The Golden Bachelorette. Kim was with Leslie, then Faith; Keith was with Kathy the entire time and outlasted every other Golden.
Four of the men on this chart — Spencer, Jeremy, Jonathon and Brian — competed on The Bachelorette season 21 for Jenn Tran. If two men feel interchangeable, this is usually why.
Kat and Sean were on Paradise season 9; Jill and Andrew were both on season 8. Everyone else on this beach was in Paradise for the first time.
Scope: Bachelor in Paradise season 10, ten episodes aired on ABC between July 7 and September 2, 2025, filmed in Costa Rica — the first Paradise not shot in Mexico. These are real people, not characters, so this page reports only what was broadcast: arrivals, dates, rose ceremonies, recouplings and the finale. It deliberately stops at the last episode and says nothing about anyone's life since; where the other pages on this site name an actor, this one names the season each person originally appeared on.
